From tap@Schouskjelleren. Entirely black. Big airy chocolate brown head. Massive aroma of well roasted dark malt, leaving notes of black chocolate, ash, tar and licorice. Much of the same flavorwise, with some earthy bittering hops and some alcohol sweetness in addition. Smooth and thick in the mouth. Medium to full body. Lasting roasty, bitter-sweet ending. Very likeable, very well crafted. [25.10.12]

Deep black color. Lovely imperial stout. Bittersweet. Coffee, complex, yet inviting. Layer upon layer of flavor.

On tap at Schouskjelleren at the two year celebration. Pretty black with a brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, alchohol and hints of dark fruits. Warming alcohol. Seems a bit fresh. Slightly fruity and floral too. Sweet and roasty with fruity flavours and a quite dry and bitter finish. Sweet, desserty and a bit strange, but quite nice. (2012-10-01)

On tap @ Schouskjelleren, Oslo. Big, bold and oily black body with a big cloudy off-white head. Aroma is big too, with complex nutty/roasty tones lingering and playing with coffee, dark chocolate and hints of tar and leather. Taste is matching, with big roasty notes, coffee, tar and dark chocolate verging on cocoa. Lush, creamy mouthfeel matching the thick, semi-viscous body. A marvelous sipper and a batch well worthy of Schouskjelleren’s celebration for sure. This could actually be the best one I’ve had from their own production.

Medium shiny dark brown head. Opaque black body. Roasty chocolatey earthy aroma with metallic notes. Dry-sweet alcoholic roasty dusty chocolate taste with fruity notes. Full-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish roasty chocolate and earth aftertaste with fruity licorice and alcohol notes. Nice! Complex, full of character, and dangerously drinkable. (0.25l draft at Schouskjelleren, Oslo.)

On tap @ Schouskjelleren. Pitch-black body with a huge, creamy brown head that probably would have stayed forever if I hadn’t eaten it. Strong aroma of dark malt, chocolate, coffee and roast. Flavor is sweet, dark malt, roast, coffee, chocolate and a very pleasant bitterness with warming alcohol. Full body with a long and pleasant aftertaste consisting of all the goodies from the main flavor. What a fine beer, even the foam head had a nice flavor.

On tap at Scouskjelleren, october 6th 2012. Black, thick body with a huge staying dark brown head. Smoky and roasty aroma, chocolate, alcohol, clove. Taste is roasty too, with lots of coffee, walnut, earthly hops. Very nice and dry body, lasting roasty and bitter finish. Must be the best I’ve had from Schouskjelleren in a long time
