On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Cloudy golden colour, large white head. Lovely aroma of Cascade hops, notes of grapefruit and mixed tropical fruits, including pineapple. The flavour is full of juicy citrus and tropical fruits, hoppy without being bitter. Some moderate piney notes too. Very enjoyable, but a little more bitterness in the finish would not hurt.

On tap Schouskjelleren. Has a cloudy straw color topped with a creamy white head. Fruity and fresh aroma of pale malt, hay and citrus. The taste is also fruity with more citrus and hay, and grassy hops. Has a rich and smooth mouthfeel and a medium bitterness. A really fresh and fruity golden ale with a dry finish.

Tap at Crowbar, january 26th 2013. Unclear golden body, with a tiny white head. Aroma is not surprisingly a Cascade feast, tropical fruity notes and lemon, lightly grass, combined with a crisp malt presence. Taste of grapefruit, pineapple, malt, clean sharp bitterness. Finish of grapefruit and grass.

Fra fat på Carddinaltreff jan-13: uklar som grågul lettmelk, et særdeles uappetittelig syn. Men du verden som den smaker! Herlig humle fyller munnhulen, og med en diskret bitterhet som gjør den farlig lett å drikke. Syrlig aroma. Utseende trekker drastisk ned på score.

On tap at Cardinal. Muddy yellow with a dense small beige head. Liche fruit, banana, succate and yeast on the nose. Salty, fruity bitterness the medium bodied drink swallows smoothly. Delicious to drink.

Orange hazy, white head. Smells of citrus, tea, grass. Medium sweet, malts, quite fruity, good malt flavors. Heavy bitter, grass and green leaves. I like this beer quite alot.

In short: A moderately hoppy smooth blonde ale. Smooth and complex, very good thirst beer
How: Tap at Olympen, Oslo Norway
The look: Cloudy blond body topped by a large white head
In long: Nose is tropical fruits and exotic fruits with some floral notes. Not a explosive hoppy aroma like most Schouskjelleren IPAs I’ve had, this one smells rather smooth. Taste has some nice fresh bananas (almost feels like wheat-based IPA?), pineapples, passion fruits, kiwis, sun dried hay, sun dried yellowed grass. Smooth bitterness with tropical/exotic fruits and floral hops. Body is soft and full and the expansive soft bubbles carbonation really fills the mouth. This is a soft IPA but a soft beer that offers a nice complexity, nothing intense here, this is a thirst beer with a lot of class. And for the environmentally conscious people reading this (Norway is notoriously green), please know that most of the beer and food and I consumed during my stay in Norway have long since been released into the Norwegian wild.

Olympen, Oslo tap: Pours a yellow, slightly cloudy, with a white head. Aroma is lemon, hops, and bread. Taste has some bitterness. It is very clear it is a golden/blonde ale. Low carbonation. Good session, but nothing special. I didn’t think it had so much alcohol.
