Bottle, at Sandar. An almost clear one, brown in colour and with a reddish touch. Dense beige head of moderate size. Roasted aroma with coffee and some dark chocolate. Nice hoppyness too. It’s full bodied and soft on the palate, dry and roasted. Coffee, dark chocolate and a nice bitterness in the flavor. Lasting finish. Not so Christmas-like, but sure nice. 140216

09.02.2014. 0,5l Bottle. Vinmonopolet Kvadrat, Sandnes. Fark brown, almost black colour with a dark off-white head. Aroma is dark roasted malts. Dry like a baltic porter. Very rich roasted malty flavour. Some fruits and some softer notes of malt. Moderate hopping gives a good balance to the malt. Nice beer!!

Bottle enjoyed at home. Thanks to Morten. Pours ruby-hued dark brown, under a creamy sand-colored head. Spicy and roasty aroma with dark dried fruits, licorice and burnt caramel. Dry and papery mouthfeel. Medium full. Spicy and roasty dark malts dominate the flavor. Dark fruity, chocolatey and ashy sidenotes. Lingering bitter aftertaste. Fairly good without standing out.

ClubGonzo (3509) - Bergen, NORWAY - JAN 9, 2014
Bottle from Vinmonopolet in Valkendorfsgate, Bergen. Pours a deep brown, near-black body with a medium creamy light beige head. Aroma is honey, caramel, grains and hints of chocolate and cinnamon. Taste is caramel, burnt toast, mild chocolate, grainy malts and hints of mild Xmas spices like cloves or cinnamon. Some hints of wet paper far in the back, without causing any real interference. Full body, medium carbonation. A solid Christmas beer in the Scandinavian tradition, without too many surprises.
