MartinT (7860) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 9, 2014
My Bottom Line:
Beautifully aromatic, this Christmas brew extends toast, earth, spicy cereals and wooden resins onto the slender palate, building quite the festive ale.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam laces around the brownish mahogany.
-Orange peel fruitiness is tastes within. Probably just a creation of the hop profile.
-This is as complex as it is harmonious.
-This brew reminds me of Dunham’s Rye ESB. That’s a great thing.

Bottle.

0.5l bottle. This is a cloudy kinda dirty brown looking one with a tiny sidesticking light beige top. Soft spicy nose. Dry cocoa powder, a little bit of warm chocolate and snickers wrapper. Smells quite nice. Tastes nice as well. Definitely generously hopped. It feels light oily in the mouth and the carbonation level is just about average with small prickling bubbles. Soft yeasty with more chocolate wrapper and a really nice all the way bitterness. This is quite enjoyable. 24.12.2013

Bottle, at Sandar. An almost clear one, brown in colour and with a reddish touch. Dense beige head of moderate size. Roasted aroma with coffee and some dark chocolate. Nice hoppyness too. It’s full bodied and soft on the palate, dry and roasted. Coffee, dark chocolate and a nice bitterness in the flavor. Lasting finish. Not so Christmas-like, but sure nice. 140216

09.02.2014. 0,5l Bottle. Vinmonopolet Kvadrat, Sandnes. Fark brown, almost black colour with a dark off-white head. Aroma is dark roasted malts. Dry like a baltic porter. Very rich roasted malty flavour. Some fruits and some softer notes of malt. Moderate hopping gives a good balance to the malt. Nice beer!!
