COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This earthy, brightly acidic mead balances the berries’ slightly smoky, plummy notes, a medium sweetness and the lingering tartness of this delicious bramble.

375 ml bottle. The mead is a clear, dark purple color with no sign of carbonation. Great clarity. The aroma has strong blackberry sweetness and just a touch of acidity coming through to make it really seem like blackberries. Taste is somewhat acidic, but that berry sweetness is what dominates for me. Nice mead to sip on and savor. I would love to have this again some day.

Pour to plastic taster at Schramm’s. Looks good; a still semi-transparent black raspberry flesh. Smells and tastes good too; a great balance of blackberries and honey with some pleasant mild tartness on the back end. Mouthfeel is medium full-bodied. Great stuff.

Pours a medium brown-ish red with some legs. Nose is of fruits, blackberries, blueberries and honey. Taste is of blackberries, slightly acidic and lightly sweet. Some warming alcohol but in a good way, makes you aware of the dangers of drinking too much. Finish is more ripe blackberries. Body is medium and mouthfeel lightly sticky but juicy mostly. Overall another solid melomel by Schramm’s!

sample from tom10101, thanks bro! an unclear dark burgundy pour showing off its legs. fragrant and almost perfumey blackberries, blackberry jam and honey spread - rich ripened plums, dried fruits; some tartness, lots of spices. flat carbonation, medium body - oily; micro-bubbly (!), semi-sweet, astringent, gently tart spicy-fruity finish. schramm’s makes excellent/exceptionnal fruit meads: this one is very good.

2 oz sample from Tommy, thanks man! Apperance is a deep thick purple. Aroma is grapes, black berries, honey, and light vinious undertones. Taste is sweet blackberries, and honey, slighty dry finish, with a berry aftertaste. Very good mead, but not as much depth and complexity compared to the others I’ve tried from these guys. Still very good though.

From bottle in wine glass. Mostly opaque deep ruby color. Nose is intense red berries, prunes, raspberry, vinous, wet paper bag, pepper. Good legs. Very sweet, very acidic. Tonnes of flavor, intense stuff, very enjoyable.

2 oz from bottle (375 ml)

Appearance: Deep purple, no head and little legs.

Aroma: Lots of juicy berries along floral-honey, red wine notes and light mineral presence.

Taste: Not very sweet. Burst of berries again with mild honeyed presence, red wine, earthy-mineral notes and cranberry juice.

Palate: Medium body. No bubbles, but it still tickles the tongue a bit. Surprisingly dry.

Overall: Not as much honey depth as most other Schramm’s mead but still a really flavorful and tasty mead. Blackberry juice forward.
