Kölsch has never been, nor will be a favourate style of mine and bottled versions are not as fresh or clean as draught ones in the city: this bottle hasn’t changed my mind. Kölsch is just to delicate for my palate, I struggle to find the ’niceties’ others claim to pick up. Anyway here’s my thoughts.
Pours a true golden colour: bright and clear. the full snow white head soon became a thin collar and a ’will o the wisp’ thought.
Grassy, grainy nose and feel to the taste, add mild hints of hop and you’ve got the smell. Taste wise it is fairly bland, maltier than the aroma suggests, the grains and grassiness on level terms with the buscuity malts, it does have a semi-bitter finish as the hops kick in, but there is no real depth to anything.
Well carbonated and fairly refreshing: not a winters day beer, but I bet it tastes a lot better in the brewpub when really fresh. Scores come out as average, this doesn’t stand out as a great example of the style, nor does it let the style down.

Clear pale golden with a decent sized off white head.
Nose is pale malts, straw, citrus, grain, clean and fresh smelling.
Taste comprises pale malts, light citrus, grass.
Medium bodied, light spritzy carbonation, crisp and dry finish.
Decent enough kolsch.

A nice head with some lacing. Sweet but balanced with bitter very nice. Very good probably best in city. Sweet fruit with bitter end. Good carbonation. At brewery straight from keg a very nice brew. A good way to end koln

500 ml bottle. Pours clear golden with a medium white head. Spicy aroma. Bitter spicy taste. Slightly bitter palate.

Medium white head, clear golden colour. Bitter-spicy aroma. Typical Kölsch taste and palate. On par with Früh, so rather good for a Kölsch.

Ein Kölsch, dass ohne zugesetzter Kohlensäure daherkommt und dennoch im Antrunk erfrischend ist, überraschend gut! Einer lieblichen Malznote mit kölschtypischer Fruchtikgeit folgt ein gut gehopfter Abgang. Saubere und leckere Sache und das in einer Gegend, wo ich das niemals vermutet hätte. Ganz klar eins der besseren Kölsch-Biere!!

0.5L bottle, pours clear light amber with minimal head. Fairly malty aroma for a Kölsch. Sour hop flavour. Decent session Kölsch, not bitter or metallic like many competitors.

Pale yellow color, nice whitehead that keeps a lacing. Aroma is bready. Flavor is the same as the aroma. As a good kölsch very refreshing with a light body. Good one...

from bottle. wonderful clear golden colour and a rocky white head. quite thin, but nicely balanced hops and malts aroma. some citric notes, some cereals. light sweetness and light bitterness in the taste. some citric and apple flavours, solid malty background. really refreshing with its light body and soft carbonation. however, the beer got skunky really fast. so the skunkiness kind of reduced the initial drinking pleasure. might have to try it from barrel to get a second and hopefully better impression - which i actually expected due to the quite good ratings.

Tap @ brewery. Golden appearance with a white head. Pretty yeasty, herbal, grassy, light lemon aroma. Light carbonation. Delicious, lemon, light yeasty, malty flavor.
