Schremser Roggenbier is the rediscovery of a beer speciality, which was traditional up until the 15th century when it was then banned. Top-fermented, Schremser Roggen stands out due to its intensive full-bodied taste. Slightly fruity to start then pithy with a long aftertaste. 11.9°

Fajne zytnie piwo. W smaku niczym pelnoziarnisty zytni chleb. Pachnie drozdzami, podobne w smaku i aromacie do dobrych piw przenicznych. lekko kwaskowe i wytrawne piwo. Bardzo drozdzowe, silnie metne, kolor ciemnej pomaranczy. Piana slaba prawie wogole nie bylo. Ale to taka natura ekologicznego zyta. Smaczne i zdrowe. Skromna butelka do tego zielona nie jest moze atrakcyjna ale wyrazisty chlebowo-drozdzowy smak to rekompensuje i to z nawiazka.

Bottle - Murky deep copper colour, medium quickly melting off-white head. Bready and fruity nose with some dough. Taste is a bit sourish with some bread, caramel, plum, apple, low hop bitterness. Medium body, average carbonation, chewy texture, sourish finish. Not bad, but there are much better examples in this style.

Bottle from Interspar, Feldkirch. Aroma is strong wheaty, dough, touch of rye, banana, bit fruity. Flavour is moderate wheaty sourness. Body is light to medium, a bit on the weak side. Interesting, not bad but not good either.

It is the true that the Roggenbier are not so common. The color is brown-orange and troubled. The foam is thin and staying a little time. The smell at the noise is nice with some fruits. The first sensation is in the mouth a mix of sour and prune and this cereal. It is a pleasant drink, different than the others.

At Craft Bier Fest Wien. Weird slightly smoky sourish character. Woody a bit. Weird with a slightly sweaty oxidized twist.

Pours a hazy, dark amber color, topped with a medium sized white head. Aroma is mildly grainy, bready, some caramel and spices, perhaps a bit fruity. But mild in general. Malty and bready taste, slightly sweet, grainy. Hint of bitterness, and a bit metallic. Not bad, not good. Something in between. Can’t really decide.
