Schremser Roggenbier is the rediscovery of a beer speciality, which was traditional up until the 15th century when it was then banned. Top-fermented, Schremser Roggen stands out due to its intensive full-bodied taste. Slightly fruity to start then pithy with a long aftertaste. 11.9°

Nice on the nose and eye, but unfortunately just not too complex when it comes to the mouth....and a bit heavy on the carbonation. It would be nice on a hot day as there is basically no after-taste.

Tried bottle. Bought in Austria. Colour is dark brown/amber, hazy. Small beige/white head who's is gone fast. Aroma is bread, banana, spices and fruits. Taste is the same, with bubblegum. Mouthfeel is oily and quite carbonated. Very nice beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

330 ml bottle as part of the "Culturbrauer Craft Bier Box".
Dark amber, brownish, hazy body, with a medium, fastly dissipating, off-white head.
Typical rye aroma, with bread, bubblegum, banana, spices, ripe fruits.
Taste is quite light, with bread, bubblegum, ripe fruits, banana, spices, some vanilla.
Quite light, slightly oily mouthfeel, with a lively carbonation.
Finishes sweet, bready, malty, spicy, slightly bitter hoppy.

Good, quaffable beer. The nose is nice, quite inviting, the taste is too light though. Drinks very easy. Nice example of a Roggenbier, but nothing special.

bottle at home bought at a random Spar Supermarket. dark orange, very cloudy / yeasty color. no head at all. smells strong of spices, yeasty, banana, some plums, smells like your typical wheat beer. medium body, medium carbonation, tastes a bit watery of spices, light ash note, grainy, citric, very light astringent. dry / citric finish. OKish, a bit watery / could use some fuller flavor.

Hazy amber color, small to medium sized white head. Appearance was promising, unlike aroma which was completely empty, except extremely small, barely noticeable amount of caramel. Taste is even worse. Big vegetable kick. It says "slightly fruity", I wonder since when is cabbage considered to be fruit? If I didn’t know, I’d say this one has ABV around 1% or close to that. Disgustingly hideous.

Sampled on draught at the Roebuck in Borough, near London Bridge. Hazy dark brown colour with a thin whitish head. Slight aroma of rye bread. The taste is a little dull, almost sour. The main characteristic is, unsurprisingly, rye, similar to the flavour of dark brown rye bread. There is also a slightly grassy hop flavour. The finish is dominated by slightly sour rye notes with a hint of caraway seed. This is not a very appealing beer - rather thin and sour with little complexity. Interesting to try it, and it may have an appeal to some beer drinkers looking for something different.

Heftiges Zeug, das hier mit Roggen wirbt und wenn Roggen wirkllich so schmeckt, möchte ich nie wieder damit in Berührung. Die Getreidigkeit ist brutal, der Muff-Faktor ebenso. Das war nix.

Bottle from the Interspar in Kufstein. The beer pours out in a hazy brown colour with low head and medium to thin body. Aroma of dark sour bread and rye. Taste of dark rye bread, grains, light malt and straw. Thin and dull finish with lots of metallic hints. Not a good beer and I couldn’t enjoy it.
