Medium white head. Muddy deep orange body. Mealy grainy banana aroma with earthy rye notes. Taste is much the same. Light body. Dusty mealy mouthfeel. Dry astringent earthy dusty grainy rye aftertaste. Very nice, and highly unusual. (0.33l bottle, Old Brewery, Greenwich, London.)

Bottle. Murky amber with a lasting white head. Nose of spicy malts and bread. Flavour is rye spice and cooked bread. Solid body. Dry and spicy finish. A pleasant tasting beer.

Bottle. Cloudy amber with a nice beige head. Aroma has huge spice notes in it with light hints of banana. Spicy rye, wheat, caramel malt, light banana, and herbal flavours. There is a nice spicy dryness to this with a pleasant amount of hop bitterness. Really interesting, quite enjoyed this one.

Cloudy amber color. Very strong rye malty nose with some cloves and bananas. The rye overpowers on the first sip, but then your palate adjusts and you want more. Wonderful. Very smooth mouth, low hops, excellent balance. Refreshing. Spicy rye finish. Hands down best rye beer in the world. THis is the shit!

draught at the Magpie & Crown. Pours a cloudy mid-brown with a foamy white head. Aroma of banana and cloves, taste adds a dry piney bitterness with a herbal finish that makes it quite different from a dunkelweiss.

Thin brown color, like a dunkel weizen. Aroma is also sweet and banana. Taste itself was very hard to distinguish from a dark wheat beer. A bit of sourness seems to come from the rye. It was very nice, although not near as out of the ordinary as I expected.

Unclear medium orange color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy banana, yeasty, caramel notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy queasy banana sweet with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090731]

Draft @ The Rake, Southwark, London SE1. Pours a hazy orange color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty rye aroma wit some hints of banana. Sweetish malty rye flavor with some spicy hints. Has a fruity malty rye finish.

Sweet fruity, citrusy initial flavor with banana and spicy ryebread-like continuation. Lasting grassy hoppy finish. Soft mouthfeel with lively carbonation. Easy, spicy ryebeer.
