Schremser Roggenbier is the rediscovery of a beer speciality, which was traditional up until the 15th century when it was then banned. Top-fermented, Schremser Roggen stands out due to its intensive full-bodied taste. Slightly fruity to start then pithy with a long aftertaste. 11.9°

(Bottle 0,5l) Wheaty aroma. Cloudy orange color. Medium white head. Light sweet, light bitter, some grain bitterness (rye malt?). Medium body. Astringent, dry finish. Interesting beer.

Pours a golden body with nice white lacing. Aroma is light and flowery. Mouthfeel is thin and light with herbal notes of tea, flowers, and clove.

3rd Wiener Bierfest, Vienna, Austria. Sampled by Kis Salétrom and Szebeni Ászok. SZÁ: Levezetésképpen még megkóstoltunk néhány különlegességet. A Thurn and Taxis után ideje volt már végre egy másik rozssört is letesztelni, hogy akkor ez most hogy van. Hát. Szaga búza, íze foggyógyszer. KS: Hát ja, ez a tipikus rozssör, amit minden utcasarkon kapni.

Cloudy orange brown beer. Crisp palate. Rich fruity beer with a good carbonated bite. Hint of banana. Soft and frothy in the mouth. Tasty.

On tap at Dean Swift, Tower Bridge, 9th April 2011. Murky amber with no head. Great nose - a wheat beer with more oomph, turned up to 11. Great fruity flavour - like a wheat beer but actually good/to my taste! Palate is delicate with flavour bursting through. Wow! Loved this.

(Bottled)I dunno what the hell this is supposed to be !. It drinks like a basic grainy lager , then there is some strange spices and pungent vibes .

Keg at The Draft House, Tower Bridge, London. Gold with slight head. Sweet, slightly sicky note with a flowery, rose petal background. Somewhat overpowering on the palate. Not really my sort of beer.

Bottle from Coppers in Newcastle. Cloudy amber coloured with toffee, malty and fruity flavours with a woody hoppy bitter finish.

Brilliant golden, with a restrained, swiftly dissipating head. Rich, malty aroma, with barley, malt and non-astringent grain on the taste. Rich, almost creamy mouth feel, with a pleasant but indistinct bitterness. Plenty of pepper on the back of the throat. Not too sweet, supremely balanced - a quaffable beer.

Bottle at the Vienna airport, on the sly, poured sneakily into a glass borrowed from the nearby McCafe. Pours a mostly clear gold with a fine, white head. Bread and faint toast in the aroma. Light sweet flavor, faint tang to the malts suggesting poor condition. Some leaves and mild, toasty wood. Light to medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Dry, leafy bitter finish, some dry toast and light tang. This one isn’t great, but it could be an unfresh bottle. Yeah, dome dry and woody bitterness lingers. Kind of dire.
