COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Schremser Roggenbier is the rediscovery of a beer speciality, which was traditional up until the 15th century when it was then banned. Top-fermented, Schremser Roggen stands out due to its intensive full-bodied taste. Slightly fruity to start then pithy with a long aftertaste. 11.9°

0.5 l Bottle. Schremser Roggen Bio Bier on the label. Coppery orange color with tiny, fluffy, off-white head. Sweet estery banana, bubblegum scent. Sweet fruity, citrusy initial flavor with banana and spicy ryebread-like continuation. Lasting grassy hoppy finish. Soft mouthfeel with lively carbonation. Easy, spicy ryebeer.

courtesy of Markus Wernig - cloudy dark orange colour with a little persistent foam; aroma of malt, corn and hay; good malt body, modest carbonation and fairly tasty; very malty, corny finish - a very good beer

UPDATED: AUG 5, 2009 Poured from a 33cl screwtop bottle. A hazy light brown colour with a stable and creamy head. Huge ester and yeast aroma, almost like a fresh dough; citrus notes as well. Whole grain bread in the flavour, an overall fruitiness and roastiness too. Nicely bitter - too bitter and dry to pass for a dark wheat. The mouthfeel is creamy, but with a spritzy carbonation that provides a light acidity. If you like yeasty aromas, this is for you!

Tap in the rake. Alround rating: Wheaty grainy malts, Brown bread, banana fruity esters, fruity spicey character. Too wheaty estery for me.
