Golden color with a thin head. Grassy aroma with some sweet malt notes. Taste is also sweet. Mouthfeel is refreshing with some cardboards at end.

On tap at the brewery. Quiet rustic brown wood pub. Not a lot going on. The beer is clear brown white head. It’s malty. Some hop. It’s better than some but it’s more like a kellerbier. Some malt some hop. AndrewC would love it here. Old bloke running it 2 euros a half litre tasty enough beer wood and a ticking clock. Simple easy basicpub with one ok beer. Malt is solid. Slight hop.

500ml bottle courtesy of Bernd. Aroma is malty, light yeast, light caramel. Appearance is amber with a light white head. Taste is light sweet, light bitter. Palate is a little bit to soft and has a to quick finish. Overall easy to drink and enjoyable.

Test vom 1.12.2009, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,9,9,8,6,9 - 8,70

Bottle @ Southern Germany. Pours cloudy dark golden with a white head. Rough grainy bitterness. Fresh grassy nose. Medium bodied. Bread, caramel and a whiff of cabbage.

Bottle by 30.7.12. Light grass and light cereal grain in the nose, and yes, a wispy plume of smoke. Dark orange-and-chestnut body with a beige head. Taste sweet and lightly tangy, sugar citrus and grass, mild smoke coats the tongue. Some nice, subtle nutty tones here. Light-bodied and quaffable!

Koelschtrinker (9999) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - MAY 7, 2011
Herb-malziger, sehr ausgwogener Antrunk, in dem das Malz deutlich karamellige Züge annimmt. Leicht hopfig, durch die Karamellnote in passendem Maße würzig, gleichzeitig angenehm frisch. Gelungenes Bierchen. 11/11/10/9//10

pivnizub (8722) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - NOV 15, 2009
Bottle: Clear, amber coloured, smaller off-white head; sweetish toasted malt and a tinge of barnyard in the nutty-bitter nose; moderate sweetish flavour, low bitterness, soft and medium bodied; sweetish-nutty finish, balanced by a very shy bitterness in the aftertaste. Not bad, but quite sweet by franconian standards.........

Bottle. Dark gold. Head is unspectacular but has a lasting cap. Bland, cardboard aroma. Palate becomes slightly sticky and so gets harder to drink with each sip. It’s equally as flaccid in the flavors as the aromas.

UPDATED: AUG 17, 2009 Bottled at PBF. Clear amber, small head. Cellary buttery nose. Mid sweet and medium bodied with well rounded mouthfeel. Quite mild with light buttercotch and overall good balance. Fairly low bitterness.
