Draught at the brewpub. Deep golden, brief minimal head.Lightly caramelly and buttery with lots of salty hoppiness. Dry, yet a bit fruity. Warming and full flavoured with long bitters finish. A well balanced rustic beer with character.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at the brewpub: Creamy, stable white head; faint malty-hoppy nose, moderate bitter-sweet flavour; lingering, robust bitter-sweet finish. O.K., nothing special.......

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Old fashioned type swing top bottle with a single neck label. Bottle sold at the brewery by an elderly man, probably the brewer, who spoke a Franconian dialect that was almost impossible to understand for a foreigner who does speak the German language. Golden color. Boiled milk and manure in the aroma. Malty, firmly hopped beer with a lot of barnyard character. I will be amazed if this brewery still exists in 5 years or so. But I will definitely check in 2010 or so....

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bread and butter aroma. Little hazy, golden, small white head, few lace. Start bitter but than suddenly disappears and is replaced by a buttery flavor and feeling, light. Long lasting and again bitter finish.
