2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Ernest (5621) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAY 12, 2013
Bottle.
Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly lasting.
Body is light amber.
Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (grain), lightly hoppy (herbs), with a light notes of grape gum and concrete.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter, slightly husky.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
Mike may be surprised (and maybe relieved) to know that even fresher bottles are still dull (this sample is 4 months away from the BB date). Generic grainy malt, almost no hops, kinda icky grape candy note, and a dull, semi-husky aftertaste. Intensely boring.

Fresh aroma with some grainy malt, hay and hints of peaches. Flavour is refreshing with grainy notes, hay, some fruits, peaches and hints of toffee. One great kellerbier!

bottle, best by Dec 2012. hazed amber body with a small off-white head. softly fruity nose with doughy yeast, bread crumb / toasty malt and juicy orange and scorched apricot sweet notes. creamy medium-full body with a yeasty / doughy fruit flavor and touches of toasted (almost roasted) malt. a bit muddled by yeast and likely faded given the bottle date, but the hops are nicely zingy and spicy lending noticeable acidity. bready toasted grains and wet paper finish. decent enough, but seems faded.

Bottle. Dark Golden , white head. Bready malt, herbal hops. Clayish, bready malt, good grassy hop profile to balance. Fullbodied, chewy. Salty dry and grassy finish. Sulphur retronasal, otherwise pretty moreish.

bottled, thanks to mowbeer for sharing. quite a run-of-the-mill kellerbier - hazy amber with a steady head; grassy aroma with hints of doughiness; ligh citric tang and rye bread character.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 EithCubes (4198) - New Jersey, USA - NOV 4, 2011
Bottle just under a month until the end of its MHD. Nose is very sweet, grass and citrus, some caramel/malt, and that sweet Keller quality. Beautiful looks, a hazy graident amber with a creamy/rocky meringue head. Medium body is crisp and very carbonated, tasting grains, a little brittle and grainy, but not without deeper earth tones and caramel and a very dry, malty finish (consider the palate cleansed). Very heavy hopping for the style.
