COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An IPA of unique balance, 680 shines a bright mahogany, hinting of the caramel and toffee malt flavors that await. Hops define the aroma and provide backbone. Finish is mildly bitter and slightly warming.

This is not an IPA! They need to learn how to dry hop! Very malt forward with very little bitterness.

Had this on tap at their brewery. Ive had this maybe 9 months back and was pretty unimpressed. Let me say they definitely changed something. One of the bartenders said that they are brewing everything there and it definitely shows! Delicious nose on it, rich citrus fruits with hints of grapefruit and pine. Floral notes resonate through as well. The malt backbone is pretty hefty on this one, but its definitely balanced by a nice bitterness. Dont get me wrong, I love my big hoppy IPAs, but this one is different, and I like a little change. If I were given a few of the big name IPAs that everybody drinks side by side, I could probably tell them apart but not by much. This one would stand out. And to me, thats a good thing.

Draft. Medium sweet hop nose with some malt in there, amber color, khaki head, light creamy, long bitter finish. Solid and different than the common California IPA.

Landmonger (156) - USA - JUL 17, 2013
Poured from bottle into a pint glass, the aroma is distinctly malt, taste is malt, citrus and a hop finish but still a cross between a bitter and an IPA at this stage. Good carbonation and nice overall finish but the split personality isnt neccesairly good

Bomber from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours clear copper with a foamy beige head. Light citrus hop aroma. Med body. Flavor seems to have a light touch of diacetyl. Mild malt. Fairly hoppy, but not very bitter. There is a strength to the flavors, but they are not extreme. Diacetyl sort of goes away, mostly, with time. Decent drink. Likely good with food. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
