2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 10/20
One of those low budget standard lagers for the German market, in Belgium sold in the Aldi supermarkets. Cream white, regular, sticky head, light golden blond colour, clear and sparkling. Simple pale malts aroma, iron, weak floral and grassy hops. Very neutral taste, restrained malt sweetness with metallic undertone, thin, with vague hoppiness in the finish without real bitterness. Correct and thirst-quenching, better than Jupiler and the like if you ask me, but still simple and very, very boring.

Clear yellow appearance, medium head. Hoppy - cheap plain hops smell. Quite bad Pilsener, must be drank chilled to be refreshing.

Es schmeckt und riecht genau so, wie es aussieht. Duerftig, jedoch mit hopfigen Momenten und einem herben Abschluss. Trinkbar, simpel, aber auch ordentlich.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Has a poor reputation due to it being sold in discount supermarkets, but I think it's actually better than Jupiler or Cristal.

Sampled 50 cl. can @ Kulminator poured into a big EKU ceramic mug – this is one of those really cheap beers that you see around in Aldi over here, popular with the welfare people, homeless people seem the prefer this brand less, maybe because it is a couple of cents more expensive than the other ones – although not expensive, the mark-up that he played for this must have been insane – no idea what the colour is because of the ceramic nature of the mug, depressing greyish head – smell like sweet grains & caramel candy – taste like sweet grains, white bread, banana, caramel candy, cheap malts, not overtly sweet but you get some of that cheep lager, grain sweetness deal here, touch grass, hint metallic, easy bitterness – body feels quite watery – there are only two ways in which these kinds of macro pils / pale lager type of stuff can be drinkable, either it is so utterly bland that it taste almost like water or the adjunct & cheep malts add a sweetness to it which masks the bad flavours & makes it tolerable, this is in the latter camp, aimed at the lower classes, this is actually preferable to some of the terrible Belgian Pilsner which the higher up class consume here
