Draught. Clear red brown coloured with an off white head. Aroma of malts and caramel. Flavour of malts and caarmel with metallic and light roasted notes.

Near black with rich beige head. Coffee aroma. Dry and a bit roasty, although perhaps not as malty as I would like. Medium bitterness. A decent example of the style.

dark brown colour, few head, very toasted, black chocolate aroma, strong body, dry and bitter with a long roasted finish - a beautiful exemple of the style

Bottle - nice chocolate malt aroma. Very dark brown color - opaque. Milder chocolate malt flavor with moderate hops. Nice schwarzbier on the lighter side.

EithCubes (5091) - New Jersey, USA - MAR 9, 2006
Draught from the Alte Kantine in Berlin’s Kulturbrauerei. Somewhat subdued notes, even for a Schwarz, very quaffable. Lightly roasted, a touch of chocolate, light and smooth. Would like to re-rate from the bottle.

ElGaucho (2240) - Minnetonka, Minnesota, USA - JAN 9, 2003
Faint roasted malt aroma. Opaque body. Large, light-brown head; mostly lasting. Good lace. Very light flavor for a dark beer. Has that non-pasteurized, yummy German draft beer finish. A little too light in body, but worth a quaff.

Had this in Berlin in a cafe outside one of the museums on the Island. Not too bad. Slight mineral metallic taste(not in a bad way) Slight roasted flavor. Maybe not the strongest example of Schwarzbier but quite drinkable. Serving: Tap
