bluevegie (1817), Perth, Australia Sep 22, 2006 Don’t worry about adding the slice of lime as it seems to be minute pieces already floating in it. Golden body with small white head that seemed to last the distance. Faint bitterness in the taste with not much else although not as offensive as other Corona clones, maybe that is the lime. Light soapy aroma. A Mexican style pale lager brewed in Switzerland and so far the ratings are from Australia?? ALLOVATE (1127), Perth, Australia Sep 21, 2006 Mmm, yum, another Corona clone...why?<br />
Schützengarten is a respectable, well established brewer so I don’t see the logic in pumping out crap like this. For its style (?) I guess it wasn’t too offensive. Poured a clear, pale straw-yellow with intermittent carbonation and a bad case of the ’sea-monkeys’. Capped off by a flaccid-looking, soapy white head that miraculously lasted for the length. Empty bottle had protein-ring on the neck?. Not much aroma, slight hint of dusty chaff, dried lawn clippings. In the mouth it is similarly strained for character. Dusty, zingy, leafy palate, frothy and very light bodied. Crisp, dry leafy swallow with feint bitterness. No malt flavour here but it’s apparently brewed to the German purity law. Lifeless mid-palate like chewing white paper. Went down like a glass of champagne. Quite bland overall. (33cL, 4.8% ABV, 22/06/07, Morley Liquor Merchants)
