omhper (10950), Stockholm, Sweden Sep 11, 2008 Bottled, thanks Bov! Mahogany colour, small head. Dusty roasty aroma. Fruity with medium body and clean rounded mouthfeel. The flavour never really gets going - there are just some faint salty toffee that quickly fades. Bov (4744), Bienne, Switzerland Apr 1, 2008 pours a clear and bright ruby-brown colour, big creamy beige head; notes of shy toasted malts; aroma of caramel and butter, sweet and moderate malt body, smooth, no noticable bitterness; no palate profile; moderate caramelish and gently malty aftertaste - boring pivnizub (4007), Porúří, Germany Jul 22, 2007 Bügelverschlußflasche (Dank an Quack-Duck !): Deep amber coloured, clear, small, but persistent off-white foam, sticking to the glass; delicate sweet-dark-malty and nutty nose, caramel and roasted malt hidden in the wings; dry (malty-)bitter flavour; traces of caramel in the bitter sweet finish. Pleasant to drink........ Quack-Duck (1976), Bodensee, Germany Jun 23, 2007 bottle. Reddish-brown colour, medium-sized creamy head. Flavours of malt, roasted malt, caramel and coffee. A tiny bit watery in the middle, but hardly noticeable. MoritzF (4019), Ruhrpott, Germany Mar 1, 2007 (swing top bottle, from quack-duck) Clear, dark mahogany colour with a fluffy tanned foam, slowly lacing. Slightly dusty, mild-roasty malty aroma with a touch of caramel, cacao and a whiff of hops. Moderately bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel. Toast-malty taste, notes of caramel; quite slim, malty finish with toffee and faint herbal hops. Not exceptional, but likeable.
