pivnizub (4007), Porúří, Germany Oct 26, 2007 Bügelverschlußflasche (thanks to quack-duck !): Sweet-malty and yeasty nose with a fruity (peaches) touch and a shy hoppy nose; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, soft MF, light bodied; fruity-malty and slightly bitter finish with a touch of yeast in the aftertaste. A very good beer, by swiss standards........... Quack-Duck (1976), Bodensee, Germany Jun 23, 2007 bottle. Golden yellow, nearly amber, cloudy, impressively large head. Malty and fruity flavours, very full-bodied. Dry and hoppy finish and aftertaste. Sully (1362), Woolloomooloo, New South Wales, Australia Feb 22, 2007 Given a recent topic I am tempted to write "An amber colored unfiltered beer" and leave it at that. This would be an injustice as it is a good refreshing beer, even if I can’t tell if is a Zwickel, Keller or Landbier. Gentle nose and soft mouthfeel, this is a muted flavour that is certainly a session beer in the making. You can’t rave about it but it gets a heary OK. bluevegie (1817), Perth, Australia Jun 22, 2005 Hazy light amber body with a medium size white head. Light malty taste, doughy, milky, medium body with a creamy sort of texture. Ok to drink and probably the best out of there range but not one that I am too wrapped in. ALLOVATE (1127), Perth, Australia Jun 16, 2005 The third and final Schützengarten beer available to Perth and turned out to be the best of the three. Pours a hazy light amber with a big off-white head that lasts the distance and leaves a little lace. Peppery spice, bready yeast and malt make up the aroma. In the mouth it’s quite subdued, but balanced and very clean. Lightly toasted malt, yeast, spicy phenols, herbs, and grain flavours, light spritzy carbonation and a medium-light body. Finishes off a little short though. Not a bad drop from this little known Swiss brewery. Definitely a session beer.
