3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 asheft (2264) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 30, 2007
[bottle]
Prominent base malt aroma with obvious noble hops and some notes of celery and peach. Nice orangish gold colour with a fizzy head that quickly dropped, like gingerale, to a thin patch. Flavour is malt and hops like the aroma, but it is cut short with a sort of musty/dusty characteristic. Slight oxidation character of tobacco/raisin/prune, with an enduring resinous hops thingy to finish. Medium body, high carbonation, moderate to high bitterness, and lingering unpleasantness at end.
