2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Swing top from Nuneaton/Hinckley Aldi (Aldi tap). Corn, marzipan, grass cuttings and crackers aroma. Alka Selzer and grass on the palate. Poor, vegetal, full of off notes and no better than the house pilsner ’Lowenstein’.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
A not-so-cheapie from Aldi. 500 mls in a cool swing top bottle. Served cold, poured into a large tulip. Bright gold with a fluffy white head that disappates to leave a dense lasting pinkie width. Faintly lemon aroma, chewy brown bread flavour. A little sweetness present, fuller bodied than most lagers. An easy drinker.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Aldi. Smells like a lemon wedge and clean house. A very firm bready taste. Full on the ~ and with a clean, lingering dryness (almost sourness) on the finish. Refreshing. Helles can be very rewarding.

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
50cl swing-top bottle from Aldi. Pale straw with a fast fading, billowing, white head; sweet, cereal aroma; soft, with a floral flavour and a grainy body; a touch of grassy bitterness to finish, but rather sweet.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pale and niclely hopped, slightly grainy. For a lager this is a very good example which I would gladly drink in quantity

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
0,5 l swing top bottle. To date the best Schwabenbràu I tried. Mild in yeast, mild in hood, clear golden in colour. A well balanced Vollbier.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
500 ml bottle. Appearance is clear, golden color with medium, foamy, off-white head. Aroma is weak with malty sweet, hay, dough, and slightly musty. Taste us not too appealing, lots of grainy, sweet malts, sweet dough, some grass. Tastes somewhat artificial. Palate is light- to medium-bodied, oily texture, average carbonation, and a weak finish.
