3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Misty yellow golden body with stable large white head, excellently looking.Pale quality malts, white bread, light herbal, bit wheaty and cheesy yeast. Fairly bitter beer with a prominent clean yeast chracter and a fairly harsh malt base, however not devoid of character. Perhaps too grainy, and within the style certainly not the smoothest, but you know: if mass produced every lager would taste like this small brewery’s effort, the world be a better place. Quaffable. (50cl bottle from Wasana’s Getränken Oase)

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
50 cl swing top bottle in a summer night, 5%, 1,60€. Yellow color, a little hazed (halfway between a weak weizen and a filtered one) nice white head. Quiet nose, fresh. Aroma is moderately malty with, bready, classic German pilsener taste. The bit of yeast in suspension lmakes it round and fluffy. Tasty too. Body is medium in the style. Taste is sweetish in the beginning, then finish has a soft bitterness. Finish is a bit sticky. Low carbonation. I’d say this is a good one, reminds me of hacker pschorr braumeister pils with less bang. Interesting keller/zwick’l-pilsener.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
500ml bottle (Stockmann, Tallinn) - thanks Marduk!
Really nice light bready grains, full and unfiltered. Initially a very papery taste, and then tons and tons of almonds, at least for phil. Alas now I’ve tasted it, I can smell some walpaper paste and paperiness. Nice smooth palate, pleasant carbonation. Late finish is packed full of hops, seared pork flesh fattiness. Anna gets honey at the end. A real shame about the paperiness, without this it would be great. Asked for a top-up from Anna. Has my salivary glands working overtime it’s do dry.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Hazy yellow, big frothy white head. Nose is dust, grains, malt, grass, hop notes. Taste is on the thin side with more grains, malt, grassy hops. Small amount of bitterness in the finish. Thin body, medium carbonation, watery palate. Pretty forgettable.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Aroma: Grainy, slight yeast and sulphur notes.
Appearance: Hazy orange/gold with huge white head.
Flavor: Malt, cellar-like flavors, watery.
Palate: Light bodied, moderate carbonation and medium bitter finish.
Overall: Not like any pilsner I have had before. I like some of the flavors, but the watery aspect really detracts from the overall enjoyment.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: MAR 9, 2014 New rating (March 9, 2014): This beer is different than what I remember the first time I had it. The beer I had last night was very malty-- more like a Czech pilsner than a German one-- and not crisp at all. Nose was maple malts. The head was sometimes very decent with excellent foamy lacing, and sometimes it dissipated quickly (I had 3 bottles). The wheat and straw overtones were very noticeable. Still a very light body like before, with a watery finish. Does not hold up to food. Still a decent pilsner in my book, and way better than any American Pils I have tried.
June 2, 2013 (original rating): Hazy and light straw colored. Rich and tasty Noble/Saaz hops that let you know you are drinking a fine German pilsner. Very clean and smooth finish, almost unusually so. I don’t understand the many comments stating this doesn’t taste like a pilsner. Actually it does, but a very light one. What we have here is the fresh and flavorful hop profile of a fine Bavarian pilsner with the clean and dry finish of a Kolsch. This beer does not hold up well to food, and becomes bland even from light snacking. Please enjoy on its own.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Pours slightly cloudy light yellow with nice white head. Aroma is malt, cereal. Flavor is malt, cereal. Slightly lingering hops in the aftertaste. A bit watery and I’m missing some biterness there, but quite drinkable.
