500ml bottle. hazy unfiltered yellow-tan. Lots of active rising carbonation bubbles lead to a fluffy white head. Fresh, enjoyable aroma. Comes off fresher, more enjoyable than most German beers I buy..first time I’ve seen this on the shelves. Dry, grassy, zesty noble hop tones balance out the earthy, almost wheat touched malt body. Pretty much a great Lager, something my palate is hungry for. Medium bodied, very sessionable, but with some depth. Well done, I’d buy it again.

3.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Half Liter Swing Top Bottle from Germany. Overall, a solid pilsener with a ton of flavor. The weak point was the scent, which was a very faint grain. Hazy yellow pour with a foamy white head. A medium/light body with a frothy feel. Pilsener flavor through and through! Big grain taste, potent.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: MAR 9, 2014 New rating (March 9, 2014): This beer is different than what I remember the first time I had it. The beer I had last night was very malty-- more like a Czech pilsner than a German one-- and not crisp at all. Nose was maple malts. The head was sometimes very decent with excellent foamy lacing, and sometimes it dissipated quickly (I had 3 bottles). The wheat and straw overtones were very noticeable. Still a very light body like before, with a watery finish. Does not hold up to food. Still a decent pilsner in my book, and way better than any American Pils I have tried.
June 2, 2013 (original rating): Hazy and light straw colored. Rich and tasty Noble/Saaz hops that let you know you are drinking a fine German pilsner. Very clean and smooth finish, almost unusually so. I don’t understand the many comments stating this doesn’t taste like a pilsner. Actually it does, but a very light one. What we have here is the fresh and flavorful hop profile of a fine Bavarian pilsner with the clean and dry finish of a Kolsch. This beer does not hold up well to food, and becomes bland even from light snacking. Please enjoy on its own.

500 ml fliptop bottle from Bottle Barn in Santa Rosa, CA. Opened with a pop. Pours hazy gold with a slight white head. Aroma of bread and light stone fruit. More malt than fruit. Near med body. Flavor is slightly citrus or tart, but lightly yeasty/bready with stone fruit esters. Not strongly flavored, but nicely flavored. Finishes neither sweet nor very bitter.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Slightly hazy golden with a disappearing white head. Aroma of malt, bread and grass. Clean and sweetish bready malt flavour with mild herbal hop flavour and bitterness. I’d call it a helles not a pilsener

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
500 ML flip-top bottle in Germany. One thing I want to make clear about this beer. It is the best Pils I ever had. That being said I am no Pils fan. This is not really a Pils at all by my book. It has Pils taste but without all the bitterness. It pours a cloudy gold color. Nice full white head and taste of a softer version of a pils. Palate boders on being a Helles. Good stuff.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours yellow with a light bit of hazy and a nice soapy white head. The aroma has pale bready malt, light corn (doubt there’s really any in it), light spice and cookie dough. Richer aroma than expected. Medium bodied with some soft carbonation. The flavor starts of with pale malt, veg, nougat, vanilla, some grass and spice. The finish is a little drier with a woody / paper aspect thrown into the mix and more of an earthy hop presence. Decent beer.
