Liked this one - from local Aldi’s. Nice rich feel and looked wonderfully dark. Rich toasty/malty flavours throughout . Really surprised.

Bottle. Aldi. Clear, dark red. Film of dense, lasting, beige head. Nose has light, roast malts. Bit of a dried vine fruit twang. Light char. Taste has a soft, vinous tartness. Light body. Fine carbonation. Fairly smooth. Some dryness on the finish.

500ml Swing top Bottle . In a Tulip . Roasted malt , treacle , licorice , caramel nose . The beige head died fast and leaves a limp ring above blackness . Flavours are the exact same , nice dry roast bitterness . not fucken bad.

Bottle. Pours a medium brown with a creamy, lacy, mixed-grained off-white head. Nose is raisins, soy sauce, black tea, and not much else; it’s very weak. On the tongue, it’s thin and saccharine; there’s very little smoke or roast to it, and it comes off more like a weak dunkel. Finish is stale raisins. Nope.

The beer looks amazing. The color of the beer is a nice dark brown, ruby red in the ligh. The beer seems to be clear, but it’s so dark it’s hard to see. On top of the beer, a nice layer of almond colored soft foam is formed. The bulk of the foam collapses, so leave a soft drape. The smell of the beer is nice. I smell a nice bitter roasted malt aroma. There are some aromas of coffee and caramel. There is also a sweet aroma. It’s a bit watery to be honest. It could have been a bit stronger. The taste of the beer is nice as wel, but not super great. There is a nice malty sweetness and a roasty bitterness. They are in good balance. But there isn’t a lot besides this. It’s quite simple to be honest. I expected a bit more. Not bad though.

Bottle from a rest stop shop in Bayern. Aroma is dark malt, dark bread, roasted nuts, touch of liquorice. Flavour is light to moderate sweet and bitter. Body is light to medium. Overall a bit on the thin side, but fairly enjoyable Schwarz.
