Ein Maß at the Cannstatter Wase. Deep golden color, large fluffy white head with nice lacing. Aroma of black pepper, straw. taste is peppery green hay. Nicer than most Oktoberfest beers.

Amber pour with quickly dissipating head. A bit of corn and biscuit. Malty on the back end. Goes down easy.

Aroma is malts/bread and a hint of heat. The flavor is malts, fruit, slight earthy notes and a mildly sweet/tart finish.

@ Sergio’s / Louisville KY Clear light amber, dense white head cover, light streak of lace. Taste is light malt with grass and a little biscuit, maybe even an adjunct is present. Polite bittering joins in for a mild finish. Sessionable, rare in America, otherwise not a lot to appreciate.

My preferred local lager from the Stuttgart area, a pine & grassy-hopped and sweet finishing brew that was somewhere between a marzen and pilsner. Had an appetizing heavy gold color with generous lacing that struck me as marzen in appearance, but the hoppy flavor profile was more pilsner. A nice everyday drinking lager, not extraordinary but refreshing and good with lunch or dinner. ---Rated via Beer Buddy

Deeper gold pour. Nuttiness, slight alcohol, fruits, breadcrust. IT isn’t great but good concert/festival beer.

500ml bottle Filtered bronzed-yellow body. Steady, thick white head. A pretty decent Marzen, with some respectable lager notes under the spicy noble hops. There is a touch of factory dinge, but there is also some deep golden malt tones, smooth and sweet. Tasty Heller-Fest Bier, really grew on me towards the second half of the glass.

Serving: Bottle from State Line Liquors. It pours a nice gold color with a large white head. The nose is mostly grainy with a light grassy bitterness. A little sweet up front, but fairly dry on the back end. Light grain and grass notes. Pretty straight forward and sessionable.

Very Nice lager. Wish I could try the real thing at the Stuttgart, Volksfest!

Bottle at The Lion, Boreham. Clear golden colour with good white head. Hoppy. Enjoyable but nothing makes it stand out, it’s close to being a pilsner.

Big half liter bottle. One of my least favorite I brought home from Germany. It’s labeled as a Marzen, but this tasted like a run of the mill pilsener. Vinous, grain scent. Golden, clear bubbly pour with a big white head. Light and crisp feel. Vinous, grain flavor, a bit tart on the finish.
