(On tap) Clear, amber golden with a creamy, off-white head leaving laces. Malty, lightly caramelish nose. Medium-bodied with a very soft and smooth mouthfeel and a low carbonation. Sweetish notes of caramel malt and a hoppy finish. Perhaps a wee fusty edge. 111106

Drunk at the brewery. From the cask. Very malty aroma, bit of barnyard. Malty taste, sweetish, oak, fruity (pear, mango). Very low carbonation. Bin thin and sticky.

Tap, at the brewpub July 2005. Deep bronze, excellent off white head and moderate condition. Gentle peppery spicy nose with hints of caramel and malt, soft and sweet in the mouth with more caramel and a low bitter roasted note, lingering burnt toffee and low earthy hoppiness in the finish.
