(bottle) murky golden colour with a frothy off-white head and lots of tiny floaties. aroma of cardboard and peaches, slightly alcoholic, with a hint of vanilla and cashew nuts. flavour is mostly starchy pale malts with more alcohol, dried apricots, some cherries, nettles and yeast in the dry finish. full-bodied with soft carbonation.

50cl fliptop bb01/2015, catered by Daniel, merci. Dry, cereal honeyed malts lay low in aroma before becoming full-fledged Kellogg’s smacks in taste: grains of the best quality, brought to the what-you-see-is-what-you-get-surface by a subservient yeast. Straight forward franconian goodness.

Moravius (810) - Berlin, GERMANY - NOV 4, 2014
Flasche von REWE Weich, Bamberg. - Orangegelb, trüb, reichlich Schaum. - Nase mild fruchtig (Apfelschale), schwach hefig, so gut wie kein Hopfen. - Antrunk leicht fruchtig (Apfelsaft), etwas grob getreidig-malzsüß, leicht hefig. Mild rezent. Abgang eher mäßig krautig-hopfenherb, ohne feinere Hopfenaromen. Nachtrunk von mittlerer, etwas dumpfer Bittere. - Trinkbar, auch erfrischend, aber nicht herausragend; für ein Kellerbier zu matt gehopft.

Bamberg jolly day 3 26/01/2014. Bottle shared on the train. Golden yellow with a lasting white head. Aroma is sweet grain, caramel and grassy hop. Flavour is sweet, caramel and worty grains, sugars. Light medium palate. Too sweet for me. A little metal in the finish.

Day 3 of the post Xmas Bamberg Jolly, bottle from the Rewe Bamberg shared on the train from Bamberg to Nuremberg, 26/01/14. Golden with a moderate off white head. Nose is caramel, bread dough, fruits, cereal notes. Taste largely follows comprising in addition caramel notes. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying conclusion. So so, not much depth.

Bamberg Bash Day 3. Train swig. Lightly hazy gold beer, very pale cream coloured head. Palate is light and airy with modest carbonation. Sweetish pale malt, light floral sweetness. Light peel fruits and a little bitterness in the soft finish. Not bad.

MoritzF (8676) - GERMANY - OCT 31, 2013
(draught at the brewpub and swing top bottle at home) Hazy, deep golden colour with a mid-sized and slightly off-white foamy head. Bready and delicately fruity (cara-)malty aroma with mildly floral and delicately spicy hops. Moderately sweet and slightly bitter flavour, medium to light bodied with a smooth carbonation. Bready cara-malt with grainy spots, hints of draff and a balanced spicy hoppy counterpart; sweet-bitter bready and spicy hoppy finish. A well-crafted brew. 26. & 27.X.13
