omhper (10950), Stockholm, Sweden Sep 10, 2008 Bottled. Hazy amber, small head. Perfumy aroma with floral orangey hops. Medium sweet with perfectly soft mouthfeel. Combines light roasty flavours from the malt with intriguing hay and orange from the hops in a masterful way. Finishes with balanced bitterness. A soft and edgeless truely Franconian style beer. pivnizub (4007), Porúří, Germany Sep 8, 2007 Bügelverschlußflasche: Honeyish-amber coloured, very persistent, smaller creamy off-white head; fruity-malty, a bit toasted nose with a good dash of aromatic, almost "english" hops; solid sweet (-fruity) and distinctive bitter flavour, light to medium bodied; sweet-hoppy finish with a long and longer spicy aftertaste. Wow, well balanced and moreish top-quality from Franconia.... joss (3248), Garching b. München, Germany Jul 28, 2007 Bottle. Toasted malt and big hop aroma. Cloudy chestnut, cappucino head. Solid groundwork: Chewy malt, light butterscotch, wood and roast, a hint smoke. On top of that a symphony of aromatic hops - mainly grass, flowers a bit pine - pulls through all the way into the aftertaste. Sparkly wellagered mouthfeel. Light nutty retronasal.. Absolutely lovely beer! MoritzF (4019), Ruhrpott, Germany Jun 17, 2007 (swing top bottle) Slightly hazy, deep amber colour with a medium-sized, slightly tanned foamy head. Light-sweet, slightly toasted malt aroma with notes of citrus and very aromatic oaky hops. Soft toast-malty base with light notes of caramel, nuts and a herbal touch; light to medium bodied; smooth “ungespundet” mouthfeel; dry and nutty, slightly toasted finish with almost English-like woody hops. Excellent Kellerbier, that reminds me very much of St. Georgen Bräu Kellerbier. rauchbier (2877), Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, England Mar 15, 2005 Bottle, from Vroni’s in Bamberg. Faintly hazy copper, good white head and low condition. Offputting soapy hoppiness in the nose, thankfully not apparent in the mouth. Gentle malt flavours with pleasantly assertive hop notes that linger into the finish.
