TEJA (1294) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - AUG 10, 2014
UPDATED: AUG 11, 2014 Big brown head over a clear dark brown beer. Small clean light roasted aroma. Clean pils taste with a tuch of roasted malts. A bit low on the roasted taste for it to be a good Schwarz bier. Well fremented to give a slim body.

Bottle. Clear dark brown, small beige head. Aromas of roast malt. Taste dry with hoppy note. Aftertaste is a bit roasty, but not that much. Carbonation was nice.

Douberd (2290) - Arnhem, NETHERLANDS - JUN 27, 2014
Bottle 500 ml at home, poured into a lager glass. ABV 5% Brown coloured beer, with a tall but thin beige head, with low retention, leaving light lacing on the glass. Aroma of light roasted malts, milky chocolate, some caramel. Taste follows , a bit dull to be honest, liquorice, light chocolate, light bitterness on the finish. Thin body, low carbonation. Overall okay, a bit boring.

bartlebier (1718) - Belchum im Breisgau, GERMANY - MAR 22, 2014
50cl bottle from Karstadt Braunschweig 12/2013. Pours a matt black-anthracite with beige head, decent enough. Nose of ground coffee filtered through chalk, slightly nutty. Taste is pleasantly dry and balanced between cocoa powder malt roast and enough of a grassy hop presence. Palate near-metallic, as with many Schwarzbiere none too creamy or rich - is where the cross-cultural comparison with porters and stouts ends.

Lekkie, sesyjne ciemne (ciemno bordowe) piwo z ładną gęstą pianią. W smaki delikatnie słodkawe z zaznaczoną goryczką. Wysoce pijalne.

BlackHaddock (3767) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - JAN 29, 2014
This lovely looking beer was poured from the tap at the breweries stall/bar within Berlin’s Green Week on 18th Jan 2014. Green Week is a showcase of food and drink with many countries and each German State having bars to try their beers etc, etc (plus other stuff): hence I had 28 different beers in one day. Black as you’d expect this is one of the better Schwarzbier around, it has a good malt presence and although not rich or smooth it does have more body and depth than most I’ve tried. It also made a pleasant change to the light Pilsners I had before and after it. The aroma and taste give a mild smoky, deep malty and dark fruit character to the brew: worth finding.
