Draft in Vienna on 09 June 2011. Cloudy/dense golden with a lovely creamy white, lacing/Orval head. Nose is yeasty, medium citrus, light grass and hay. Very inviting. Lovely yeasty/doughy taste. Lightly bitter, lightly sour/citrusy, but man that dough/yeast is a lovey, creamy-textured wave of joy. Full buy extremely soft and creamy body. On this day, just really perfect for this moment. Lässt erfrischen!

UPDATED: JUN 12, 2012 Tasted from the bottle in August 2006, Wien.
Light yellow color, extremely cloudy. Tall, fine head. Extremely strong lemon aroma. Sour, with just a touch of sweetness. Very aromatic. Somewhat like a lambic in its nose. Sour flavor, with lemon and spice. Good malt, but little sweetness. Good hops, but it is ruled by a refreshing, sour flavor. Very drinkable; fantastic. Dry, sour, hoppy finish, long lasting. Maybe the best bottled Austrian beer I have tried, certainly the most interesting and original.

Poured hazy yellow-golden with a foamy white head that diminishes slowly to a small lacing one. Aroma of honey, sourish yeast, pale malt and some herbal-floral hop. Medium bodied one with a honeyish malt background, floral hop and sourish yeast. Easy drinkable, fine zwickl.

UPDATED: JAN 18, 2009 My Bottom Line:
This amenable Zwicklbier relies on its minty, herbal hops and its huggable blond cereals to sculpt a balanced and healthy pint.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A layer of foam protects the cloudy blond.
-The nose is a tad too timid for my tastes.
-This could be hoppier, but it is still quite good as is.
-Light citrus leaks from the hops, working well with the hay-like cereals.
Bottle. Best before January 23rd, 2009 (drunk on Dec.28).

Vom Faß im Bieramt, Wien. Cloudy, sunny yellow body, topped by a finger of platina blond head. Doughy white bread aroma. Notes of perfume and faint lemon peel. Taste is soft malty woth a citrus-fruity twist. Mild grassy and fruity bitterness. Medium full. Juicy in the mouth. Lemony endnotes. Both soft and crisp this one, providing a good drinkabilty.
