maeib (3997), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England May 20, 2005 Bottled. A chestnut brown coloured beer with a short lived off white head. The aroma is nutty and woody with some dark chocolate. The taste is quite dry with some bitter chocolate and nuts. Unfortunately there is no depth of flavour and it’s all a bit thin leaparsons (3963), Leicester, Leicestershire, England May 14, 2005 Bottle. Tan brown with a small head. Aromas are sweet roast malts with a good deal of nutty character and metallic hops. Flavours are light malts, almost Ovaltine, pretty sweet with nuts, traces of chocolate and a soft berry fruitiness. Unusual in that it is a mongrel of an Alt and Dunkel and they both take it in turns on the palate. JonMoore (1551), Loughborough, Leicestershire, England May 2, 2005 Bottle. Medium brown colour with a slim off white head. Nice malty aroma, smooth roast malt taste. Low carbonation, light mouthfeel. A nice, simple, drinkable dunkel.
