Draught: Clear, stable off-white head, amber coloured; moderate to distinctive sweetish caramelly-toasty nose; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied, quite soft; a mild pleasant bitterness shows up in the slightly drier sweet-bitter finish. Archetypal well quaffable Dunkel.....

Bottle. Tan brown with a small head. Aromas are sweet roast malts with a good deal of nutty character and metallic hops. Flavours are light malts, almost Ovaltine, pretty sweet with nuts, traces of chocolate and a soft berry fruitiness. Unusual in that it is a mongrel of an Alt and Dunkel and they both take it in turns on the palate.

(bottle) Clear, dark amber colour with a big and slightly tanned foamy head. Mildly toasted malty aroma with notes of caramel, chestnuts as well as a whiff of cacao and herbal hops. Mildly sweet and delicately bitter flavour, rather light bodied with a moderate carbonation. Slightly toasted and doughy malty taste with shy nutty notes, caramel and herbal spice far in the background; mildly sweet and slightly hop bitter finish with notes of caramel and cacao in the aftertaste. 01.XI.15

Bottled. A chestnut brown coloured beer with a short lived off white head. The aroma is nutty and woody with some dark chocolate. The taste is quite dry with some bitter chocolate and nuts. Unfortunately there is no depth of flavour and it’s all a bit thin
