From the bottle this pours brown with a soft beige head. Very watery on the palate, to soft to bring a lot of flavors through. Earthy toward the finish. The roastiness was there, but not very strong, lacked a nice smoothness that I like in dunkles. Overall I just thought this was to watery, bland flavors.

Draft at the brewpub. Sweet and grainy maltyness in the aroma, light hops. Reddish to brown body with a small off-white head. Malty flavor, light caramel, some light hops in the end. Very drinkable.

Draught at the brewpub. Reddish brown coloured. Sweet and malty with notes of milk chocolate and coffee. Also quite fruity and rather nutty. Soft mouthfeel. Complex and nice.

Very earthy aroma, like earthworms even! Dark, musty/dusty flavor, fairly rich, rustic. Slight coffee aftertaste with subtle bitterness. Like it came straight out of the ground, interesting beer.

Pot stopper with painted label: tasted in the Kaufhof Münster. Pours a big off-white frothy head. Orange brown color, just a bit hazy. Caramelly aroma and flavor with licorice. Little hopbitterness, little carbon. Maybe a bit on the sweet side, but a very nice malty beer.
