This beer is dark brown in colour with reddish highlights. Nose is slightly earthy. Taste is immediately honeyed and malty, perfumy with a hit of almond and cherry. Malt dominates as you would expect though some bitter hops do peep though.

Pour is a dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is sweet malts with some roasted nuts. Flavor is a little bland but there is some caramel with a roasted malt. Just not enough there to make this a good beer. So-so dunkel and maybe this is old since the last rating was in 2010.

Bottle (Dank an Jonas!): Reddish-amber coloured, slowly collapsing off-white head; dark malt, roasted malt, nuts and some dried fruits in the nose; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied; slightly lingering - almost a bit smoky - drier roast-malty finish. Good.........

(swing top bottle) Hazy, slightly ruby brown coloured hue with floaties and a big and beige, also dense foamy head. Sweet and yeasty toasty malty aroma with notes of caramel, dark chocolate and shades of hops. Slightly bitter flavour, rather light bodied with a soft carbonation. Toasty malt-accented taste with caramel, a whiff of chocolate and rounded herbal notes; moderately dry hoppy and toasty bitter finish. 27.I.10

Ungstrup (30737) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - MAR 15, 2009
Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a thin orangey head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of fruit, and so is the flavor, though added notes of caramel and bread, leading to a dry bready finish.
