16.9oz bottle 6/16/13 (Binny’s Naperville)-58° in Lager Glass-Pours a clear light golden with a small white head. Aroma of grains, grass, hay, and earthy. Taste of the same with some malt coming thru on the back end. This light bodied brew is a nice hot day kinda brew.

I enjoyed this brew. It’s taste has a subtle smokey flavor that is not dominant, but it is evident. There is a slight flavor of bacon, which I guess is why there is a pig on the label! The palate is very smotth and the there is very little obtrusive aftertaste. The appearance is the one issue of this beer that I believe limits its overall score. It is a cloudy brew with no head or lacing. These are big negatives in my rating. Other than that the beer is refreshing, smooth and flavorful.

500ml bottle pours a golden color with a 2 finger white head that disappears quite quickly leaving some thick spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma is grainy and fruity kind of cider-like. Taste is a grainy malt sweetness with and earthy and spicy hop bitterness. Light to medium body with good carbonation pleasing the palate. A decent helles style lager that is worth trying at least once.

It’s slightly hazy dark golden with a white head. The aroma has notes of malt, butter (not unpleasant), light fruit and a touch of bread. The flavor has a light sweetness and is a bit thin-bodies with notes of malt, light butter, straw, light bread and fruit, the finish is dry.

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is hazy medium yellow, unfiltered. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain/cereal), lightly hoppy (flowers), with notes of DMS and soap. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, slightly unclean. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Pretty difficult to enjoy...the nose is rather cereal-ish (think corn feed) and has obvious DMS. There is some hop scent to help a bit, but it’s really pretty clunky/swilly. Rather sour in the mouth without a lot of bitterness, and the aftertaste is not very clean. It’s not quite repulsive, but it’s still quite sad...which is surprising and disappointing considering that it’s apparently bottle conditioned.
