3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Amber-gold with a huge beige head.
Smoky wheat, orange aroma.
Taste is reminiscent of orange soda....some banana....tangy.
A little different...the soda pop note is a bit odd....tasty, but not what I expected.

1.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
This is some garbage. Bought fresh to the best of my knowledge and just flabby and crappy tasting. It is brown orange and headless. It smells kind of like caramel and earth. It is sticky sweet and overcarbonated. A touch of tartness and a bit of a fruity character is the only real resemblance to a hefeweizen it has. I was kind of hoping this would be a cookie cutter hefeizen in a goofy bottle but it’s just nonsense.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
The highlight for me was the pig label on the swing-top bottle. This had a ridiculously tall head over a light amber body. It smelled as bananas would if they were made of metal. The flavor was bananas with a touch of wheat and a twist of lemon, all very light. The finish was like biting into an orange pip. This apparently will not be my favorite Hefeweizen.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
500 ml. bottle. A slight gusher. Pours a thick. rapidly collapsing ivory head, over a clear light amber (SRM 10) body....nose is light apple, pear, minimal banana, clove....taste is light cereal, hints of apple, very light clove, minimal hop....mouth feel light of medium, carbonation high, light acid. This is an atypical Hefe. The aromas and flavors, while not off, are all very light for the style making for a dull uninteresting beer. BJCP 7/2/12/4/6

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
500ml bottle, thanks to Alicia for picking this up for me from Iowa. Date on bottle reads 03/05/13. Poured into my weizen glass. Hazy darker sort of orange amber color, definitely dark for a hefeweizen. Bigger bubbly airy fizzing beige head, that soon fades to nearly nothing, leaves no lace. Couple sediment chunks visible in the body. Medium body. Pronounced, stronger, soft tingly carbonation. More sweet taste, light bitter, kind of peppery bite to it. Wheat grains, light banana, more spice. Not a good hefeweizen, though not undrinkable

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Orange, peach, clove, and wheat malt aroma. Cloudy orange-brown with giant off-white head. Mildly sweet orange, banana, clove and light wheat malt flavor. Pretty good (and somehow pretty fresh - Thank you Siciliano’s!).

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle: The aroma consists of caramel, banana, and faint wheat. It pours a a cloudy orangish-brown with a two finger off-white head that fades to a thin film within a minute or so. The flavor starts with starts with moderate caramel and banana. The finish is moderately yeasty with some light toasty notes and a touch of wheat. It’s light-medium bodied with mild carbonation. Overall, it’s not bad, but it’s really missing any citrus notes that you typically find in a Hefe.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
500 mL bottle - pours murky brown, orange with yellow highlight, medium head, white, medium lasting. Aromas are big and sour apples, soma caramel and yeast mixed into the farmhouse. Some very wild yeasty aromatics, more like a farmhouse ale, or wild Belgian than traditional Hefeweizen. More wild, slightly sour cherry notes in the tastes. Sharp and a bit acidic, dry finish with some bittering elements. Definitely not the expected Hefeweizen.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
50cl bottle: Pours a cloudy amber bronze with a spotty-lacing froth of off-white head. Has a sweet malted wheaty nose with some biscuity notes and plenty of banana, lemon and clove. Starts with fine carbonation and good fullness with nice malty sweetness well-balanced with lemon zest and complex yeasty esters. Finishes slightly drier and smooth. An enjoyable Hefeweizen.
