2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 Drake (4803) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - AUG 26, 2008
500 mL swingtop from Wine Warehouse. Slightly hazy auburn color with a large fizzy head. Low retention. Very toasty malt aroma with some nutty notes. Taste is tart first, with a toasty maltiness following. The tartness is a little offputting and the finish is bland. Medium body.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 tgncc (1797) - Bellmore, New York, USA - AUG 12, 2008
Attractive nut brown color with tinge of red, nice off-white foam. Sweet malty aroma, caramel, a little earthy. A little thin on the mouthfeel, and the flavor for that matter. Slight maltiness, and a little bit of hops in the flavor. Finishes about the same, a malty aftertaste with the slight influence of bittering hops. Not interesting, but drinkable.

330 ml bottle. Pours clear brown with nice tan head. Flavor is roasted malts, a little sweet, caramel, and a little nutty. The body was a little watery though, but still very enjoyable. I drank this one down in about 5 min, and was ready for another.

Bottled. A dark amber beer with a medium tan head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel, but also a light note of straw, leading to a dry bitter finish. The body is a bit thin. Thanks yespr.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Grovlam (4106) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - APR 29, 2008
Bottle. [Courtesy of yespr, thanks buddy] Average beige creamy head that mostly diminished. Spare lacework. Clear sparkling body with a pale brown colour. Aroma of grain, toasted malt, surprisingly hoppy for a German Altbier. Over the palate came mild grain, watery brown sugar and hint of fruit and floral notes. Light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Moderated sweet flavour with light bitter notes. Sweet toasted malty finish.

I liked this beer. drank very easy. My second tasting of this brand. Poured dark deep brown. tasted very nice, but the low alcohol content was a killer for this rating
