duvel tulip / cheesy, doughy aroma. slightly fizzy pour... dark brown body with ruby highlight. thick white head that diminishes into pockets of air then eventually nothing but some bubbles. it’s surprisingly light in body--in respect to flavor and palate. it has a roasted, yeasty, ... thing. almost acidic. egh--i’m glad i only had a bottle of this!

Aug 26, 2008 500 mL swingtop from Wine Warehouse. Slightly hazy auburn color with a large fizzy head. Low retention. Very toasty malt aroma with some nutty notes. Taste is tart first, with a toasty maltiness following. The tartness is a little offputting and the finish is bland. Medium body.

Aug 12, 2008 Attractive nut brown color with tinge of red, nice off-white foam. Sweet malty aroma, caramel, a little earthy. A little thin on the mouthfeel, and the flavor for that matter. Slight maltiness, and a little bit of hops in the flavor. Finishes about the same, a malty aftertaste with the slight influence of bittering hops. Not interesting, but drinkable.

May 29, 2008 330 ml bottle. Pours clear brown with nice tan head. Flavor is roasted malts, a little sweet, caramel, and a little nutty. The body was a little watery though, but still very enjoyable. I drank this one down in about 5 min, and was ready for another.

May 2, 2008 Bottled. A dark amber beer with a medium tan head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel, but also a light note of straw, leading to a dry bitter finish. The body is a bit thin. Thanks yespr.
