Run of the mill lager - not great for Germany but still better than America’s most popular beers.

500ml swing top bottle from Erzengel, so thanks Gabriel. Deep gold, amber clear colour with thin off white head. Some perfumed malt on the aroma. And a bit of woodiness, I wonder if that is the house yeast as I have noticed that on a couple of the Schwelm beers. Very decent toffee biscuit on the finish which is very likeable. Yes, there is some flavour in the mouth that is a bit woody again, but the biscuit finish takes over and is very moreish.

Yellow body, big head. Of course, it looks boring, it’s a German beer! Aroma is dirty underwear and a hint of hops. Taste is.... uh, well, let’s just focus on the mouthfeel. It’s smooth, and the palate has a dry and hoppy finish. These Geuuhmanns don’t seem to like taste as much as "feel".... so, there you go.

Swing top bottle 50cl. Pours an amber coloured brew with huge white head. Appetising appearance, distinguished malty notes in the nose, grainy. Thick mouthfeel but refreshing, easy to sip! Very good one, emblematic for this style.

Clear golden with a light brown head. Fruity, light malty and metallic on the nose.
Acidic, bitter and sweet flavors.
Light to medium body.. Dryish.

Bottle from Cracked Kettle, Amsterdam. Pours clear light amber coloured, with a small white head.Aroma of weak malts, some grassy hops as well. Taste is light bitter, moderate sweet, getting drier towards the end. Quite boring beer.

Pop-top @ Rudat, Dortmund-Oespel, Germany. Moves on from the Pils and get’s an amber-color treatment. Nose is a bit more bumped up with malts and some herbal qualities. Body is a medium with a slight bite. Taste is malts, caramel, a slight slight figure of spice, and rounds off nicely with grains and bitters. Decent brew.
