COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Pours a clear golden with a thin white. Big caramel, faint smoke, sweet. Smooth and sweet, like pure caramel. Well balanced, quite nice.

Swing top bottle, dekuji pivnizub. Golden color with medium white head. Aroma of grain, biscuits, hints of lemon, spices. Bittersweet taste, with touch of biscuits, syrup, clove, cinnamon. Bittersweet finish. Good.

Hopfiger, hell malziger Antrunk. Gelungen! 9/11/12/12/10/11

My Bottom Line :
Lean honeyed malts and a citrusy hop whisper lead this solid Heller Bock into a tasty peppery, wooden hop bitterness.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A veil of foam covers the shiny golden, producing some lacing.
-This is not one of those linear, sweet Maibocks.
-The aroma is not really eloquent compared to the flavor profile.
-Carbonation is prickly which fits with the relatively dry body.
-This hop-accented Maibock is a welcome angle on this often limp, sugary style.

Bottle. Thx Günther!

Bottle, danke nach Bochum! Golden, low carbonation, big creamy lacing head. Light leafy fermenting fruit aroma. Salty base, light fruity, a hint phenolic notes, leafy hops. Chewy full body, not sticky. Salty finish. Did not come together for me.

Bottle looks really good, beer in the glass very zippy, huge head. Starts strong, not too dry, fine spicy. Wonderful grasy-spicy notes, flowery. Finish a bit sourish, lemon-like, makes the beer interesting. Very drinkable. Great maibock!

bottle, greetings to Bochum! Clear deep golden colour, large white head. Nice hoppy-malty nose, very fresh hop aromas. Full-bodied, robust and solid malty base with hints of vanilla, honey and biscuits. Good, fresh, grassy hop flavours are present. A good Maibock - very nice, indeed. A good beer from a good brewery.

(swing top bottle) Clear, pale golden colour with a blond and dense foamy head. Grainy pale malty aroma with notes of dough and draff, accompanied by herbal and slightly citric hops. Moderately sweet flavour with a rounded level of bitterness, medium to full bodied, crisp on the tongue. Biscuity and slightly grainy malty taste with balancing herbal and subtle fruity hops; sweet-bitter rounded malty and hoppy finish. A well-made Maibock. 31.III.11

Bügelverschlußflasche: Pale golden to golden, clear, mid-sized, quite stable, fluffy white head, RESTRAINED GRAINY NOSE WITH BISQUITY AND LEMONY TRACES, moderate sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied and really soft; lingering lemony-bisquity finish with an increasing bitterness in the aftertaste. Well balanced, moreish Bock....
