Details: 25cl bottle
Tasting notes: Pours a hazy deep red color with a bubbled white head. Sweet full aroma of malt and caramel, some toffee notes, a touch of dark chocolate. The flavor is sweet malty, proceeds to a gentle bitterness with some roasted touches, quite a dry finish. Mouthfeel is quite thin but not disturbing, however the flavors would come out better if it was a bit fuller. Together with the long dry finish however does the thin mouthfeel make the beer very drinkable.
Conclusion: A decent good drinkable beer with a long lasting dry finish.

Bottle, bought @ Beer Planet, Brussels. Pours deep red to black with a small, creamy, off-white head. Aroma has sweet toasted caramel, liqourice sugar. Medium carbonation, rather thin and light dry mouthfeel. Flavour has liqourice, vinious, sugar. Quite dull.

Dark ruby / dark amber colour with low steady creamy head, medium body and fine carbonation. Nose of old malt. Taste of ripe malt, dark bread, burnt caramel, bittersweet chocolate and sour nuts. Easy to drink but you don’t notice the strong alcohol and I’m not sure about of that’s good or not ;-)

Sweet and woody, cola comes to mind. Dark brown and consistency of cola to boot.Taste has elements of oak barrel and peat.

Pours a very dark brown/red with beige foam reminiscent of cappucino. The nose is a mix of refreshing bitterness, roasted malts bordering on sourness and some sugars; while it’s a nice aroma it’s not very distinct. The taste is more roasted though the sourness from the smell re-appears, similar to what one finds in stouts and some scotches. Overall the taste is quite sweet and less full, less outspoken than most other scotches I’ve tasted so far. The typical vegetable undercurrent is present though. The aftertaste is less sweet and more bitter with a slight hint of nuts but all in all it’s soft, even weak. Overall nice but it misses body and character compared to its peers, it’s closer to an average Dubbel. I was surprised to see that this is brewed by AB InBev, I had no idea and it seems there is no marketing around this, at least not in Belgium. The sweetness in the taste is not unlike a blonde or brown Leffe, could it be that it shares some ingredients with those Leffes?
