Commercial Description:
This seasonal porter is a brown so deep that it's almost black. The taste of our "plain" evolves as it warms in the glass; shading from dry chocolate and coffee to chocolate and cobnut. The finish is dry and nutty with just the slightest hint of licorice. Black Irish is brewed from pale ale, crystal, brown and chocolate malts; with roast barley in the mash for the dry astringency characteristic of Irish porters and stouts. Delightful on its own, it makes a wonderful match with smoked salmon, mussels or oysters.

Bottle. Thanks to radiomgb for sending me this. Poured a deep balck body with nice head. Aroma has a nice roastedness to it, chocolate, molasses. Flavor is slightly bitter, lite chocolate. Creamy mouthfeel. Really nice porter.

But au Highland Pub (Ottawa), 20 oz. Brune très foncé, patit collet de malte de chocolat, avec un soupson de café. Petit goût de café, un peu amère avec un arrière goût faiblement sucré.

On tap at the Highlander (Ottawa). Opaque black body topped with a good beige foamy head. Nice malty aroma with roasted coffee notes. Taste is well balanced, bit it lacks robustness and complexity. Ends with a decent bitter/smokey finish. Good average Porter.

Black, tan head. Neapolitan ice cream (mostly chocolate) notes, with a touch of roast, rich. Roasty notes and light choclatey flavors, a bit bitter in the finish and comes off as thin. Not a bad porter though.

Beautiful black color, big brown head. Dark chocolate, roasty malt, and a bit of coffee in the aroma. Lots of malt in the flavor, some sweet chocolate, followed by some sourness. Nice body, dry finish. Thanks Perry for the keg in Toronto.

Millennium Vintage Porter. Aged 3 years. Black w/ light brown foam & excellent lacing. Aroma of sweet chocolate & light coffee w/ notes of nuts. Soft, creamy feel. Robust, smooth nutty, chocolaty, mildly roasty flavour w/ a light vinous sourness. Sweet finish.
