Jan 3, 2010 Light amber in colour, small hard poured foamy white head with nice ropy lacing. The label has an awesome pic of some unhappy bearded dude in a mountie suit! Cold stale coffee, ample mild hop aroma and roasted malts but I am unimpressed. The taste is also cold stale coffee. Solid bitterness, a bunch of malts works here, roasted. Hey, it says "bitter brown" on the label. The bitterness is damn bitter for sure. It lasts quite a long time. A bit watered down. Very straight forward brew. Shit loads of bitterness, medium bodied, light carbonation is nice and works well. Not much for drinkability though.

Dec 27, 2009 Bottle from LCBO. Pours amber with small amount of white head. Great aroma of toasty hops, caramel. Taste of more caramel sweetness with great bitter hop finish. Body a bit thin, but overall a great beer.

Dec 25, 2009 Bottle. Pours a lightly hazed brown with a thin soda bubble white head. Nutty and toasty, with a hint of sesame oil. Medium bodied, light astringent bitterness, with a good amount of toasty bitterness. Finishes up with a good bit of bitterness and more nutty sesame toast flavors.

Dec 24, 2009 33 cl bottle, Mulmur, ON, Canada. Deep brown cedar colour.Very little head. Balanced yet intense aroma, sweet toasted nuts and caramel. Very bitter, then fading to caramel laced coffee and a long dry finish.

Oct 14, 2009 Bottle from LCBO. Pours dark brown to deep copper in colour, moderate off-white head. Aroma is not too intense, herbal and earthy hops. Hops really stand out in the flavour department, with a hint of smoked malt. Great Ontario beer,

Oct 9, 2009 Medium brown colour, weak head, slightly unclear. Seems to have a little bit of sediment on the bottom, didn’t realize it though and didn’t get much of it. A little nutty and citrusy aroma, quite interesting, but could be a little ore pungent. Flavour is excellent, quite bitter with lots of deep hop flavours hidden in this beer. Very nice brown ale flavour, one of the best browns I’ve had. Can’t believe it’s only 4.3% with this much flavour. Hint of smoke and a long finish, very nice.

Oct 6, 2009 Bottle. Pours clear amber with a small head. Short retention. Nose is hoppy bitter. Lots of malt, quite sweet. Taste is bitter, malty. A bit roasty. Earthy hops. Little hint of butter here and there. Starting to get a bit more butter now. A bit disappointing.
