Crockett (903), Steelback County, Ontario, Canada Aug 14, 2005 Deep brown with a medium sized tan head. Nose of chocolate malt, berries and leafy hop. Heavy duty on hops and all the chocolate and toffee sweet malts are obscured. Minerally and tart in the finish. Alcohol is hard to detect. jerc (3268), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 9, 2005 Dark brown, good sized fluffy beige head. Green leafy hops in the aroma and mild malt. Flavour starts out with a healthy dose of celery which I was not expecting at all. Leafy hops and a pleasant above average bitterness. Hops dominate the flavour while tradition scotch ale flavours of sweet malt and a touch of brown sugar try desperately to get noticed from deep below. An intriguing enigma that was not at all what I was expecting. Enjoyable. 6/4/7+/3/15
