341ml bottle acquired in trade with ughmash (thanks!). Poured a dark black color with a smaller sized tan head. Aromas of coffee, charred wood, caramel, smoke, and roasted coffee. Tastes of chocolate, roast, some dark fruits, coffee, and some vanilla. Kinda of like an Imperial Stout lite but very tasty and very drinkable.

4-year aged 341 ml bottle from czar ; thanks mate. Contents exploded upon opening, lost about 1/4 of the beer on my kitchen counter. Disappointment ensued. Pours an orange tinted black with a nice, thick, long-lasting brown-beige head. Smell is chocolate, hazelnut, roast. Taste is molasses, milk chocolate, vanilla, roast. Finish is strangely metallic. Very subtle hints of floral hops. Metallic, molasses taste linger on. Very thick body, viscous, oily mouthfeel. Weak carbonation. I felt it somewhat lacked in punch, for an Imperial, but maybe was it because of its age? Guess I’ll never find out...

Red Stripe-shaped bottle shared by lushawn- thanks again, LiShawon! Pours a deep, opaque brown with no head. Aroma of roast, chocolate, charred wood, and nuts. Flavor of dark fruits, earth, roast, nuts, and molasses. Medium-bodied, with low carbonation and a dry mouthfeel. Decent.

Not sure if this is really retired or not. If so, I certainly shouldnt be drinking a bottle for 4 bucks at the Rhino. Pours with a creamy reddish hue head. Thick n black. Smell has boozy malt and some coffee, some cacao full on with the sour after that the raw fruit brings in Brazil. But that sour doesnt come till the aftertaste. No idea how old this is. Stubby.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
The aroma of this is very light, with some sweet malts, but nothing utterly distinguishable. It pours a lovely deep dark brown with an light almond thick head, that lingers quite some. For taste, perhaps one of the more subtle stouts i’ve had - dark liquorice, dark cherries, and an alcoholic taste - contrary to what the commercial description states. The mouth feel is moderately full-bodied. All in all a mediocre stout.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Near black pour with heavy root beer head. Toffee, wood, liquid smoke, sourness. Coffee, bitter chocolate, roast, kind of a burnt vegetal, liquid smoke taste. Slick sourness, not a creamy taste. Thin mouthfeel, might have liked a more robust malt body. Finish is dry, bitter coffee. Not loving it. Smell is grossly overpowering.
