TFOB 2006 - I quite enjoyed Major misconduct (again this year). I’m a bit of a hop head it would seem so I’m not all that surprised. Nice bold flavour with the obvious influence of hops. Overall pleasant sampling experience but I’m not sure if I would be able to have more than one pint in an evening.

fresh on tao at the Toronto Beer Fest. Wow, Got hops? my lord, yes, there are definetly 100IBU’s in here. i LOVE hoppy beers, but my god. Almost have trouble finishing this one. Initial aroma is well, HOPS, quite pungent also. Overall very well done.

TFOB 2005. I missed this last year, so I my rating is purely based on this, the "hop infused" version. Dark brown pour, small tan head. There is an incredible forest like fresh hop aroma to this baby! Wonderful. Light bodied (this is where the hops overwhelmed - put some more body with these hops and this thing is just about perfect), a slightly sweet malt taste does come through - rather scotch ale like. But this version was all about the hops, the freshest I have ever tasted in a beer, almost mint like. I went back for this all through the night. Not the most balanced beer, but pretty darn tasty. Thanks Perry, a really nice experiment / treat!

Draught. Sampled at 2005 Toronto (Fort York) Festival of Beer. MY 200th RATING. Mindful of an approaching milestone, and my growing reputation as a hop-wimp, I figured this would be the beer to start my third century on RateBeer. Apparently this year they added even MORE hops with an infuser - heaven help us! Poured a murky amber-brown with a small off-white head. Aroma - well, hops, of course! Great heaps of fresh, green, pungent hops, smelled more like crushed fresh mint leaves to me - maybe a little sourish malt in there too, but probably wishful thinking. Taste - again, essence of fresh mint - incredibly strong and pungent hops with that almost-sweet mint essence, but with two inhalations and oxygen doing its magic on my taste buds, waves and waves of even more dominant hops attacked me - I needed water, and I needed it immediately - all I could taste for 15 minutes was fresh, mint-like green hops. Palate? - hops, of course - pretty one-dimensional. A hop-head’s wet dream, but not for me.
