Spicey pumpkin filling nose, hazy, brownish/orange. Flavour is pumpkin all the way(were many pumpkin pies pureed for this?) Medium bodied, very well balanced, spicey, great mouthfeel, a lavish texture. Terrific! Well done again Perry! shintriad (698), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Mar 14, 2008 Spicy, yeasty and quite strong. Heavy, sometimes overwhelming body is backed up by herbal hop notes and woody flavours. Alcohol is noticeable. Slacks (481), Bolton, Ontario, Canada Feb 18, 2008 Cask @ Volo Cask Days 2007: Pumpkin colour .. haha .. and no head provided. I was surprised to find so much actual pumpkin in the aroma, leaving those "pumpkin pie spices" to take a bit of a backseat. That said you can definitely pull out the ginger and clove alongside some hops. The flavour also took a leaning on the pumpkin side, leaving the spices to take the backseat, and it was interesting. I’m not a huge pumpkin fan so perhaps it’s not for me, but I’d also say this is a far better representation of the style than those other locals who dump a bag of spice in and call it a pumpkin ale. Beware the alcohol, she’ll sneak up on ya.. mabel (2530), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Dec 29, 2007 [764-20071020] Cask @ Volo Cask Days 2007 (Toronto, ON). Super ginger aroma with atomic oxo cubes. Slightly hazy, amber brown body with no head. Spicy nutmeg and ginger flavour has a bit of bread crust. Medium-full body is smooth. Better cold, reminds me of a pumpkin pie-like mix. radiomgb (1921), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Oct 31, 2007 Orange-brown in colour, very thin beige coloured head ring around the glass, very still looking, no lacing. The aroma was of pumpkins, some bread, lots of spice - nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves. The flavour is an almost repeat of the aroma, it’s like drinking a freshly baked pumpkin pie. Mildly sweet mouthfeel, thinnish body, mild carbonation. Finishes long with some light spice. I liked how the pumpkin and the spices balanced each other out. Fairly warming actually, the perfect early fall beer.
