Commercial Description:
Sgt. Major's I.P.A is a robust, "west-coast" style I.P.A. with a tasty white-grapefruit/spice/resin flavour and aroma, making the ale wonderfully refreshing. Its bitterness (68 I.B.U.) is obtained throught the use of copious amounts of Chinook hops. The malts are pale, crystal 60,and chocolate. Available on draught year 'round and soon in 6 packs (bottles) at the LCBO.

A hazy orange beer with a nice orange head. The aroma is sweet grassy and hoppy. The flavor is sweet grassy combined with slight notes of metal and citrus.

(Bottle 34,1 cl) Hazy, amber golden with a small, rough, off-white head. Aroma of caramel and citrusy aroma hops. Medium-bodied with some caramel and then a dry - but not overly refined - aroma hopping with some citrus. A bit boring. 290806

Dark amber; richly hoppy, resiny aroma and palate. Hops are almost sticky, and there are tons of ’em. The best part is, after all the hops, you get a little touch of malt in the end to mellow it out. That way you make sure to order another.

Powerful cascade taste and smell. At last, Canada 'gets' the APA. Aggressive, a bit unbalanced, but overall a good beer.

12oz Bottle, thanks to Lubiere Big C-hops aroma emanates from the glass in a piney and woody fashion (columbus? chinook?). Appearance is a filtered gold to amber with a small, but lasting off-white head. Grapefruit and pine flavors with a flavor profile geared toward hops. Concentrated grassiness seems to blend into an almost biscuity very subdued malt character. Crisp mouth presence, refreshing light-medium body. Rather mineralic water brings a salty touch to the highly bitter and citric finish. American in nature and doing good at what it aims.
