341ml bottle from the LCBO in Peterborough, Ontario. Pale golden, thin to no head, no lacing. Aroma is grainy, some caramel malts, grass. Flavour is thin, light sweetness, apples, wheat, bread. Lightly sweet mouthfeel, light body, moderate carbonation. Finishes quick, thin and watery. Really didn’t care for this one when it was fresh. Offers nothing really.

Bouteille 341ml.

Ordinaire.

Deep golden pour. The nose is lightly honeyish and crackery with some earthy/spicy hoppiness. There is a touch of tartness on the back as well as some lingering earthiness. Can’t say I’m a fan of either the tartness or the light buttery character. Meh.

gold pour, thin head aroma is faint floral and some tart apple fruit as well. earthy, soft muted bready maltiness. Very odd tartness just in the back of the cheeks on the finish. I wanted to like this beer very much...but the flavour was just off a bit.

330 ml, from the lcbo. Pours golden, slightly hazy, quick-fading head. Cereal malt, floral aromas. Flavor is pretty much in line with the aroma, + slightly fruity. Light-to-medium body. Lacks some crispiness to be considered a true "summer" beer, but still a very enjoyable, surprisingly deep offering.

Bottle LCBO Pours light amber with thin white head. Faint aroma of malt and grain. Light bodied, little carbonation, somewhat bitter with sour aftertaste. Serviceable.

11.5 oz bottle from the LCBO, served in an English pint glass. Pours clear amber with a small, quickly fading off-white head. Aromas of caramel malt and herbal hops. There are also notes of cereal and earth. The flavour is mildly sweet up front but develops a delicate bitterness through the middle. The finish is medium in length with a touch of bitter. On the palate, it feels light in body with a thin, watery texture and very slight carbonation. The finish is slightly astringent. I was pleasantly surprised by this one. It has a lot more caramel malt character than I was expecting. It looks like an English cask bitter, but it lacks the subtle floral aromas typical of the style. True to its name, it is quite sessionable. Worth another try. 2010-07-17
