MartinT (4458), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Nov 27, 2008 My Bottom Line:
Mild biscuity notes are overwhelmed by strange tartness and mineral trails in this involuntarily sour and definitely problematic session ale.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the clear pale amber.
-The body is lean but never frail.
-This is low on the hops, low on the malts and not at all as advertised.
-Leafy hop bitterness is feeble.
Bottle. pootzboy (900), Calgary/ Kitchener, Alberta, Canada Oct 26, 2008 Finally got around to reviewing this after putting it off and passing up other opportunities to so so....amazing what a few hours tap sucking at the Castle will do to your courage.
So I tries one:
Taps a flaccid hazed amber with a smallish cap. Light grainy-herbal aroma some citrus. Light palate, rather thin, some cereal tastesl, some citrus and herbs and a fast finish.
I never really got into these light session ales and this is probably a good reason why...just too indistinct and characterless to get excited over.
JesseM (424), Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada Oct 18, 2008 I’ve come to realize this was actually new to me despite having been under the belief that I’d had it already on tap, however I was wrong. I’ve had this casked, and bottled, so I think it know it pretty well now. And it’s not very pretty. I hear it’s awesome fresh, but to me that doesn’t excuse how awful it is anywhere outside of the Ottawa area. A light orange coloured ale, which upon first sniff promises nothing less than total disappointment in parting with whatever you paid for it. Putrid sour spoiled malts over British hops that are screaming bloody murder for rescue from this pathetic pit of despair. The worst thing about it, is that for a fleeting moment before the sourness hits, you’re almost led to believe this might be decent. It isn’t. Throw in some wet dog that must of swam around in the fermenters or something, and you get one hell of a bastardized version of something Perry Mason used to do well when Heritage still had him as brewmaster. Good God. If it seems like I’m being too harsh, I don’t really care, this product could not possibly be more offensive to me than it already is. jjpm74 (3448), Connecticut, USA Oct 5, 2008 Bottle courtesy of boutip. Pours copper with a white head. Smells of grass, hay, dry malt, citrus. Tastes dry with some citrus and touches of coriander. Tarte finish.
