Commercial Description:
A bit paler than Session, owing to the colour of the organic pale ale malt being about half the colour of non-organic. we couldn't up the organic crystal too much for fear of sweetening the beer too much. Organic Admiral hops are used exclusively as well. The are a relatively new "dwarf" variety from the U.K. that gives very good aroma as well as usable bitterness. The IBU's are about 25.

Bottle. Medium-gold with just a touch of brown. Woody aroma features components of tree bark, stalk, cardboard and chalk. Gritty palate with good texture and above-average richness for a low-alcohol beer. Up-front wood gradually evolves to semi-bitter hop finish with nice malt backbone throughout the flavour cycle. Above expectations.

Bottle. Pours a hazy orange amber with a medium large white head. Lightly sweet. A bit of a sweet and sour thing going on here. Nothing really sour, just a nice contrast to the sweetness that shows up initially. Subtle, with some citrus, but a bit of paper and cardboard. Finishes up with a bit more sweetness

Quickly thinning head on amber. Slightly sour grainy aroma. Ash and lemon flavour does not a session make.

Fruity, bitter peppery aroma. Gold lager-ish appearance. Some veggies and spice. Decent hops give an okay bitterness. Mild astringency underneath kind of sullies things. Not bad, though largely uninteresting.

Bottle. Clear fizzy yellow with a medium frothy white head. Good retention and average lacing. Aroma is corn, malt, boiled vegetables, minimal english hops and metal. Flavor is burnt malt, English hops, corn and a moderately bitter finish. Medium body and fizzy carbonation.

Bright golden crystal clear coloured body with a super large and soapy (not dense) white head. Aroma of pale malt, fake sugars, light hops and cardboard - not much nice going through this. Light-bodied; Fresh malty flavour with a tiny bit of hops in the mix and very little else - nothing too pleasant. Aftertaste is pale and not pleasant, perhaps nice in a hot day, but I don’t see many of these up north. I sampled this 341 stubby small bottle purchased from the LCBO in downtown Ottawa, Ontario, Canada on 08-April-2009, sampled at home, south of the border in Washington on 26-May-2009.

341 ml bottle from the LCBO. pour clear golden with a white head. the aroma was sour and ciderish, maybe some biscut malt. the flaour was of sour pale malt, cider, light floral hopping. its easy to drink despite the sourness. this was a weird funky low abv ale that was actually easy to drink but it obvoius the sourness wasnt intentional so i took some points off. i want to try i fresh bottle but i would also by the soured version again. weird.

(Rating #2185)

341ml. stubby, bottle acquired in trade with Sammy - thanks! Poured a medium and slightly hazy golden color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of grains, a little earthy, and light card board. Tastes of grains and some citrus. Started out lightly sweet and had a light tart finish. Light lacing left on the glass.
